BEST EMERGING FRANCHISE 2010 WINNERS

CAREMARK (Ireland) have been announced as winners of the Ulster Bank/Irish Franchise Association "Best Emerging Franchise 2010."

Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Conor Lenihan presented the award at a Gala Dinner in Croke Park. The competition was open to franchisors who established a new Irish franchise system in 2004 or later, and which is considered to have potential for development. The winning company was chosen having regard to its start-up date, innovation, growth rates, brand recognition and effective marketing.

The award winner was selected by a distinguished judging panel comprising, Orna Stokes, Ulster Bank, Conor Brophy, Newstalk, Greg Swift, Dublin County Enterprise Board, Cian O' Mongain, Sunday Business Post and Orla Nugent, UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.

Owned and operated by Tom and Maeve Duke, CAREMARK provide care services to anyone who wishes to remain in their own home regardless of their disability, illness or situation.

Accepting the award, Tom Duke, Managing Director commented: "I greatly appreciate this formal recognition of our hard work over the past number of years in bringing CAREMARK to where it is in the market. To date, we have created over one hundred jobs at our various locations throughout the country and we will continue this expansion and job creation during 2010."

As part of its franchise rollout strategy, three highly qualified franchisees were selectively recruited during 2009. "CAREMARK now have offices in Cork, the Midlands and Kildare, in addition to our two company owned offices covering the north and south side of Dublin" said Duke. "We have invested significantly in the engagement of expertise in best practice franchising, additional training for all of our staff as well as putting a dedicated franchise support team in place with the objective of providing the CAREMARK franchise and its franchisees with the optimum opportunity to succeed" he continued. The company are actively engaged in recruiting further high calibre franchisees in key locations throughout Ireland.
